Invocation and Lord’s Prayer

God of cleansing waters and purifying fires, send your Spirit among us to bless these moments of worship.  We hear your call and we respond with awe and wonder.  We bring to you songs of praise and prayers of gratitude.  We seek to center our thoughts on you and let your grace wash over us.  Through the waters of baptism form us into a true community.

Take our hearts and our lives that we may live and love according to the wisdom of Jesus, who teaches us to pray. “Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.  And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.  For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.”  Amen.

Words of Institution

Leader:  On the night when Jesus was betrayed he took a loaf of  bread

Peopleand when he had given thanks, he broke it and said,   “This is my body that is for you.
Do this in remembrance of me."

Leader:  In the same way he took the cup also, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my  blood.
Do this, as often as you drink it,
in remembrance of me."

All:  For as often as we eat this bread and drink the cup, we proclaim the Lord’s death until he returns.                              I Cor. 11:23-26
