Invocation and Lord’s Prayer

God of love, your mercies are new to us every morning.  In these gathering moments we come seeking your presence.  We call on your holy name in grateful praise.  Touch our hearts and enliven our spirits through every act of worship.  May we recognize your hand at work in the joy and the sorrow we experience.

With an open heart we seek the renewal and re-creating strength of your Spirit as we pray.  “Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.  And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.  For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.”  Amen.

Words of Institution

Leader:  On the night when Jesus was betrayed he took a loaf of  bread

Peopleand when he had given thanks, he broke it and said,   “This is my body that is for you.
Do this in remembrance of me."

Leader:  In the same way he took the cup also, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my  blood.
Do this, as often as you drink it,
in remembrance of me."

All:  For as often as we eat this bread and drink the cup, we proclaim the Lord’s death until he returns.                              I Cor. 11:23-26
