Invocation and Lord’s Prayer

Loving God, let your holy presence fill this place.  May we bow before you and worship with appropriate awe and wonder.  With heartfelt gratitude we join hearts, hands and voices in this fellowship of grace.  Equip us with knowledge and experience to share the beauty of your love with a hurting world.  In the spirit of Christ we offer ourselves to you.  Work within us, among us and through us to accomplish your redeeming purposes.

We pray with hearts open to Jesus.  “Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy Name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  Give us this day our daily bread.  And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.  And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.  For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.”  Amen.

Words of Institution

Leader:  On the night when Jesus was betrayed he took a loaf of  bread

Peopleand when he had given thanks, he broke it and said,   “This is my body that is for you.
Do this in remembrance of me."

Leader:  In the same way he took the cup also, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my  blood.
Do this, as often as you drink it,
in remembrance of me."

All:  For as often as we eat this bread and drink the cup, we proclaim the Lord’s death until he returns.                              I Cor. 11:23-26

      The Lord’s Supper               “Remembrance”
The Bread and Cup in Communion represent the life, death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ.  They nourish us as individuals and as a community of faith in our life together in His name.
