 West Broadway Elementary
Backpack Blessings
Backpack Blessings is a program designed to feed elementary school children whose families’ qualify for the federal free and reduced meal program and may not have any or enough food on the weekends.
Each week volunteers, along with school officials, will distribute backpacks filled with enough non-perishable food for the weekend.
Food item such as: Kraft EZ Macaroni and cheese cup, fruit cups/applesauce, cereal or granola bars, instant oatmeal, single serving cereal boxes, juice boxes, Chef Boyardee Ravioli Micro Cups, Campbell’s Soup Micro Cups, Single serving pretzels or pudding, Pop-tarts, trail mix, beef stew, chili, tuna, Hormel Complete microwaveable meals or single serve cups, cheese and crackers, ramon noodles and beanie weenies.
Please place these items in the designated box in the narthex.
Easter Basket for Dan and Debbie Goertzen
When dear friends leave our congregation we miss them, delight in their new opportunities and find ways to continue in an extended fellowship. Through prayers, emails and visits, many of our congregation has prayed for Dan Goertzen in his battle with cancer. The Easter Bunnies (Ruth and Wally Hardy) will be visiting them the week after Palm Sunday. An Easter Basket has been placed in the library for those who would like to send greetings and encouragement to them.
2010 West Area Work Retreat
at Camp
Kum-Ba-Ya March 19-21.
This event is for grades
6-12. It will cost $25, which includes food, lodging,
and a t-shirt. Registration deadline is Wednesday,
March 10. This is the weekend were the youth from
the West Area come and help prepare the camp for all
of the retreats that will happen during the summer.
There will be lots of work, BUT there will also be
worship, games, singing, and free time.
Maundy Thursday Communion Supper 
On April 1, we will gather at 6:00 pm for the Maundy Thursday Communion Supper—an act of worship remembering the night in which Jesus gathered with his disciples for one last meal before his betrayal and arrest.
Like that night so long ago, we will share a common meal together where we will also partake of the bread and cup from the Lord’s Table in a time of communion.
Please bring a dish (e.g. entrée, side dish, salad, dessert, or bread)
to share for the meal in Fellowship Hall.
CAMP RALLY
Rain or Shine, April 24 at Camp
Kum-Ba-Ya
for moms, dads, grandparents, and youth
of all ages. Registration deadline is Wednesday, April 14. This CAMP RALLY is for anyone that is interested in learning more about KBY and what it has to offer.
It will be from noon-3pm on April 24.
